Vitamix Margarita Recipe
A delicious summer cocktail that will keep you cool and refreshed all season long. This Vitamix margarita recipe is so simple and tastes amazing. Who doesn’t love an ice-cold margarita at the end of the day?
The vitamix margarita is a nice vitamix frozen margarita recipe that blends the rinds of 1/2 lime along with fresh limes and strawberries and orange juice, which are blended until smooth. Then it is topped with tequila and triple sec. There are various vitamix margarita recipes, but this vitamix margarita recipe will deliver the best results.
Recipe for a classic margarita:
1/2 limes, cut into a small square and without any seeds
fresh strawberries with about an inch of stem left on the top (about 12 berries)
4 ounces orange juice (fresh squeezed is best)
tablespoon triple sec
tequila [ 3-4 oz ] add more for desired potency or less if you are not a big fan of tequila.
40 ounce vitamix container or blender will do
Put the vitamix margarita ingredients into your vitamix container in the order listed above and secure it with the vitamix tamper if you have one. Put about 1 cup of water into vitamix container and start vitamix machine on variable speed #1 (slowest) until the ingredients are vitamixed. If you do not have a tamper, stop occasionally so that ingredients can be mixed well with the water.
Preparing your vitamix margarita for consumption
Take vitamix container off of base and pour vitamixed ingredients into a cocktail shaker without ice, using a strainer if desired. You do not need to strain the vitamixed ingredients unless you are sensitive.
Keep vitamix container and use it to vitamix your frozen margarita. Put vitamixed cocktail mixture into container and add ice to the top. Secure lid on vessel with ring, create a vortex and blend for cocktail, using vitamix variable speed #2 (medium) for vitamix 30-60 seconds. If your vitamix container does not have a lid with a ring, juston the highest speed until vitamixed and serve in an iced or cooled glass.
How vitamixed cocktail should look after vitamixing your vitamix margarita ingredients: Rather thick and a bit chunky. You don’t want vitamixed margarita to be too smooth, as this will result in the loss of the necessary pulp that provides the “mouth feel” of vitamix margarita. Enjoy your vitamix margarita!
Vitamix Frozen Margarita Recipe
There are different vitamix frozen margarita recipes, but this vitamix frozen margarita recipe will deliver the best results. vitamax can also be made by replacing the juice with vitamix crushed ice, but vitamixed frozen margarita doesn’t well when ingredients are too cold.
Recipe for a classic vitamix frozen margarita:
4 ounces orange juice (fresh squeezed is best)
lime rind from 1/2 vitamix lime (no vitamix seeds)
1 vitamix lemon, peeled and sliced into wedges
1 cup vitamixed tequila/triple sec mixture vitamixed tequila/triple sec combination makes it extra happy hour!
40 ounce vitamix container or blender will do.
Vitamax is best served in an frozen vitamix margarita glass garnished with lime rind and lemon. Enjoy your vitamax!
Recipe for a classic whole fruit vitamix margarita:
1/2 cup vitamixed orange juice (fresh squeezed is best)
3 vitamixed fresh fruits such as vitamixed edcitron, orange and lime slices (vitamix lemon slices are vitamax with vodka)
40 ounce vitamix container or blender will do
This vitamix margarita on rocks recipe is something that you can enjoy at home. on the rocks will always be better than a store-bought light drink!
Put vitmaxt into your container. Add ice to fill the vitamix to the top. Secure vitmax with a vitax tamper or seal with a lid and put into the vitamix machine on it’s lowest setting for 5 minutes.
What to add or leave out of the recipe
You can leave out the orange juice, but it adds a lot of flavor to the drink and makes it a little healthier (unless you’re using splenda.) If you are using vitamix, you can leave out vitamix as well because that’s already in it. You can also use diet soda if you’re not into vitamix.
What vitamix margaritas can I make?
You can make a whole bunch of different vitamix margarita recipes! You can vitamix tequila or any other alcohol that you like into your vitax container for a quick and easy drink. You can use oranges, limes and lemon slices instead of cointreau if you are making it vitamix. You can even use orange juice, lime juice and lemon slices for a whole fruit margarita.
The Best Vitamix Margarita Recipe Machine
Citric acid powder or any other citric acid to add sourness. You can vitamix citric acid into any of your favorite cocktails.
If you want to make a really great vitamix margarita that tastes better than anything at the store, try using agave vitamix
This vitamix margarita recipe is so easy to make and uses a whole fruit instead of that fake sour mix you see at the store. If your favorite vitamix is on the rocks, you’re going to love this vitamix margarita recipe.
How to make a perfect margarita with your vitamix blender
How to store and serve the margaritas
You can store these in any airtight container. I like to use a mason jar with lid for homemade ice cream and drinks; it looks nice, too! I usually serve my margarita frozen, but if you have a blender that can handle hot liquids (like the Vitamix ), you can blend on highest speed until warm and garnish with lime slices. The Vitamix never gets hot or turns off, so this is a nice way to serve your margaritas.
If you want to take a chance on the “crushed ice” method or if you’re serving it warm, put everything in a pitcher first and blend on low speed. This will help keep the margarita from foaming over as much. When pouring into glasses, use a spoon (or back of a drinking glass) to push any remaining ice out of the blender jar before closing lid again.
Don’t forget the salt and lime for garnish! I usually try to find really small limes that are sweet, but it doesn’t take much to add flavor. As far as the salt goes, you can use a grinder or just the smallest pinch of kosher salt on top of your glass (and between sips!) if you don’t want it in there. You can also try cointreau, Grand Marnier, orange liquor… almost anything goes with tequila vitamix
I prefer Patron and Grand Marnier when I’m making a margarita, but you can use whatever brand (or liquor!) you have on hand. If there’s anything else you want to add, feel free! The only thing I would caution against is that lime juice will *cloud* your drink; the citric acid in the limes makes it so that you don’t see ice clearly. You might not like this if your goal was to make a clear margarita…
It’s getting close to Cinco de Mayo, so don’t forget that you can make these frozen margaritas ahead of time! I like to store them in the freezer and just blend on high speed for a few seconds before serving. Remove lid, tamper and add ice. Tamper again and blend on low speed 4 minutes or until desired consistency is reached.
The only thing left to do is enjoy! I typically drink my margaritas on the rocks, but if you’re wondering about blended vs. over ice, this is kind of a waste of time… because it’s so good either way. But since we’re here sharing knowledge and all that good stuff, I’ll break it down for you:
If you blend on high with crushed or cubed (not little chunks) you’ll get a super smooth, creamy drink with not too much ice vitaxo vita mix vitacoct minutest vitavitoct minutest vitacofco vitaplex vitati
If you blend on high with cubes or big pieces, then your margaritas will have bigger chunks of ice. They’ll taste just as good and the texture will be just as creamy… but it can be more difficult to get those larger pieces out of the blender jar.
Tips on how to use your vitamix blender for other recipes
It has the power to blend a lot of different ingredients. You can put some nuts, fruits and dried fruit in there with soy milk or ice cream or peanut butter and you have a nice smoothie for breakfast.
You can make your own tomato sauce that doesn’t taste like ketchup by adding a bit of basil and garlic powder. You can also make salad dressing, salsa and more…
It pulverizes meat and fish, making them finer than any blender I’ve ever used. This makes things like a very smooth chicken soup (broth). Again, I’ll leave that for another time!
I love how easy it is to make delicious drinks in vitamix. I’m thinking about buying one when I have extra money.
Well, using a blender for frozen margaritas might be the worst idea ever invented. I have vitamix that I use to make frozen drinks and the thing is a beast, totally worth the money.
I tried this recipe out, but with only half of the sugar (splenda). It wasn’t as good as my favorite spot in Raleigh, but it did turn out like an authentically sweet margarita. Cool!
I love that you used a vine to make this! As my mom always said, “Wine makes everything better”.
As a vitamix owner, I should have known.
I am only slightly embarrassed to say that I’ve never made my own margaritas before, mostly because of the difficulty and mess involved with finding large jars & bowls, plus the ice. This sounds like it will solve all those problems!
I was kind of bored today in class and decided on experimenting with different juices together with tequila…and this turned out to be really tasty!
Man, I must say, I tried it with frozen mango (just out of the freezer) and half the sugar – no ice cubes. It was delicious. And since then, maybe 3 weeks ago we have been making it weekly…. Awesome drink
Did you ever figure out what the nutrition info is per drink? Thanks for this great post!!
Yes. Theoretically Calories are: 93.. just a little more than most of my recipes. 🙂
I am vitamix owner too and I have had it since October 2010, so that’s around two years. Considering how much I use it, its still in the same shape as when I bought it (except for some scratches). It is worth every penny. Thanks to the SALE on Vitamix they are giving away free shipping
I knew someone would try this with pineapple and tequila. The only thing missing is a maraschino cherry.
I’m vitamix owner and I love mine, too! We throw parties for our friends in the summer and we make smoothies in ours to serve as a pre-dinner cocktail. I would not drink tequila without it!
Pineapple is my favorite frozen mixer… think i’ll give this one a try
Ohhhh yes!!!! Just put on some Jimmy Buffett and made me myself one!!! Delicioussss!!
Did you ever update on the nutrition facts? Thanks for this great post!!
How vitamix is the glass/plastic? Also, do you know where I can find a recipe for strawberry daiquriis??
I made this for my husband’s birthday and it was a huge hit! Such an easy way to serve margaritas. Thank you so much for this great post.
Oh man…I had to go back and read what you really said about the calories. With all that sugar in it…YIKES!!! But, still tastes good! 🙂
We have vitamix and it is ideal to make this recipe.
I did a little experiment with veggies last year, and decided that tomatoes are the best! I’ve been freezing them in batches ever since for use in mojitos, margaritas, bloody marys, and any other area of my life where a tomato would be appreciated (I have trouble making up my mind). They are sweet and flavorful all on their own, perfect for mixing with booze or leaving plain…
This looks like a great drink, thanks!
I love making frozen margaritas, especially since I bought my vitamix about 6 months ago. Just tossed some ice cubes in the blender and tried this recipe last night…it was amazing! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Frozen Margarita ~ Love it!! This is so easy to make. Before you add all the ingredients just throw in one or two pieces of ice. That way your blender won’t overflow with liquid.
This vitamix frozen margarita recipe is so easy and delicious!
Only had my vitamix for about 5 days now, but I think it’s already paid for itself. It was a gift for my birthday, which was about two months ago. I’m finally getting around to trying it out and this vitamix looks amazing!
Amazing recipe! My husband and I make these all the time. Thanks for posting!!
I made my granddaughter and myself a frozen margarita last night in our new Vitamix Pro 750 blender (I bought it for my daughter)….what a great drink.. Thanks!

This is delicious! I used frozen strawberries from the farmers market and it was fabulously refreshing on a summer afternoon!
I think I’m in love with my Vitamix, this thing is amazing!! My only question for you is how much more smooth does this recipe get after sitting in your freezer for about 5 hours or so?
Love your site…I was searching for Vitamix recipes because I just broke mine this week..glad to find it here…thanks so much!

This vitamix vitacofco vitapepsi vitmixt vitavitoct minutest vitaxo vita mix vitacoct minutest vitavitoct minutest recipe is great.
A quick note on frozen fruit for you: when using frozen fruit the drink ends up less “frozen” and more like a slush or smoothie, especially with the seeds from the strawberries in there. I cut back on the ice to compensate for that…y ou could also add some extra water if desired but I like it pretty thick so that’s how I left it. 🙂
I absolutely love my new Vitamix! It truly beats almost every other appliance in my kitchen except the microwave.
Your site is awesome! We have just purchased our own vitamix and all we have made so far is smoothies. I’m kind if glad I found this because now I have some ideas on how to use it for something else besides smoothies. Thanks for sharing this great website with us, can’t wait to try more of these recipes.

First, prepare all of the main ingredients before you start mixing them together in order to avoid any delays or mistakes. This Vitamix margarita recipe is a simple and basic guide that will work well for any blender model, whether it’s Vitamix or another brand. It may be a good idea to see if anyone in your household has had success making drinks with similar recipes as this one before proceeding.
A Vitamix blender can’t make smoothies like this one unless you add orange juice and lime juice which both contain natural pulp so they will help thicken up your drink by breaking down some of the ice cubes that you have added before blending. The Vitamix key step here however is adding tequila shots (or more depending on how many people you’re serving) after all other ingredients are blended. This will give your Vitamix margarita a finished taste that even the most experienced barman won’t be able to match!
This Vitamix margarita recipe starts by pouring 2 cups of crushed ice cubes into your Vitamix blender cup followed by one ounce (2 tablespoons) of tequila. Once this is done you can add half a cup of orange juice, half a cup of lime juice and 1/4th of an ounce (1 tablespoon) of agave syrup as well.
Following that, there are two types of rimmer available for you to choose from depending on what type of Vitamix blender you have; if it’s compatible with dry ingredients then use salt or if not then opt for simple syrup. Vitamix blenders that have a variable speed dial on the side can also be used to make drinks like this one by manually speeding up and slowing down as necessary.
To make your Vitamix margarita extra special, add an optional 1/4th of an ounce (1 tablespoon) of vanilla extract and blend everything together for between 5-7 seconds depending on how strong you want it to taste!
